Emma Haves-Jonathan, best known as E.J is a young māori singer/songwriter who is based in the windy capital of New Zealand. She performs a balance of contemporary R&B and occasional soul that is gathered from influential artists such as, H.E.R, SZA and Victoria Monét.

E.J begun performing at a young age, whether that was through choir, kapa haka, musicals and dance. She'd perform at local competitions and festivals. She is currently in her last year at Massey University, studying a bachelors degree in Commercial Music. E.J has plans to continue her musicality through becoming a teacher in the near future.

E.J’s sound is able to present the world that she thrives in through nostalgic value and timeless beginnings. The soft tones and mellow harmonies will slip you into a dream of pure bliss. She first made her appearance on the conjoined R&B/Hip Hop album, Session 188 and is currently in the studio preparing to release her debut EP. This will consist of R&B and māori influences with a concept of sharing her first experiences and memories. E.J aspires to release music that shows her authentic self and unique style.
